A Verse to Live by

"No trial has come to you but what is human. God is faithful and will not let you be tried beyond your strength;
but with the trial he will also
provide a way out, so that you may be able to bear it."

The Jeopardy Response is: What are Prayer, Fasting, & Alms Giving?

The Lenten Season got underway for me today at the 7 a.m. mass at which I served as the psalmist. Last week, after receiving an email reminder of my Ash Wednesday obligation, I began to wonder what had possessed me to make such an early morning commitment. But then yesterday the reality of it became clear: God. Because I served and received my ashes this morning, I was able to be part of an evening orientation at Franklin County Children's Services regarding mentoring high school kids who are in foster care. God's divine intervention graces the big and small moments of our lives. He does this, I think, because what we might judge small is big to him.

On another note, I owe some recounts of, wow, two weekends ago. However, that's not happening all in this missive, so I'll start with this one: February 2 was the grand event for LifeCare Alliance (Big Wheels) at which I was one of three photographers. This annual fundraiser that helps so many in our community raised some beaucoup bucks to assist on that effort. It was a real privilege to be there and serve.
